Below, you will find a list of upcoming events in your area.
DELIVERING LUNCHES TO SENIORS
Cayuga County is in need of volunteers to deliver lunches weekly to seniors. This is a great way for us, and our participants, to get out in the community, and to give back to those in need! New Beginnings currently donates one day a week to go out and deliver lunches to the seniors in our community. If this sounds like something you would like to participate in, no matter what county you live in, please call 255-3390, Ext. 312 for more information!
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Habitat for Humanity is an initiative that builds homes for the needy; it operates entirely on volunteer power! Habitat for Humanity is a unique volunteer experience for people of all ages, races, religions, and abilities. The family that is receiving the house is required to put in hours as well, so this gives you the opportunity to meet the recipient of all of your hard work! This also teaches you practical skills for you to handle DIY projects in your own home. New Beginnings has currently picked this as one of our long-term summer projects. The house is located in Auburn, but Habitat is a charity that is available in any county, so if this is something that interests you, please call 255-3390, Ext. 312, for more information!
CAN DONATION
New Beginnings picks a new cause every month or two, and brings all of our cans that we have collected to this charity. This helps bring awareness to local charities that are in need of financial help. Do you have extra cans that you would like to donate to a cause? Bring them to the New Beginnings Home Care Office at 14 East Garden Street, Auburn, NY.
DO YOU HAVE IDEAS?
New Beginnings is open to new ideas for events and community involvement. Do you have ideas about how to enrich the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities? We would love to hear them.

MAY
This event benefits the Special Olympics of New York, which strives to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-style sports for all children and adults with disabilities. This gives them continuous opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of skills and friendship with their families, Special Olympics athletes and the community. Through their participation in Special Olympics New York athletes gain confidence and build a positive self-image, which carries into the classroom, the home, the workplace and the community. New Beginnings has formed a team to show our support to this important cause!
This annual run’s proceeds goes towards a nursing scholarship, and to The Vera House, which is a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. This run is in memory of a local nurse who was a victim of domestic abuse. Every year, New Beginnings sets up a stand and donates to this local cause!
